The Advent Workshop was held on Sunday, November 13 at East Vincent UCC. Crafts stations provided by Barbara Shaffer and Carolyn Zimmerman were set up. Then the decision was, where to start first and which decorations to make.
Shining brightly this Advent season are some decorated candles and yellow popsicle stick stars. On the Christmas trees, are some new ornaments of button wreaths and little decorated cinnamon trees. Hanging Christmas lists were created by the kids. Some items requested by them were very interesting! I wonder what Santa will think? Glass snow globes and a Christmas mouse from a pinecone completed the items to make. (Hopefully none of the mice are running around in the church.)
Several boxes were wrapped in brightly colored paper to take home and use as a “reverse Advent calendar.” Each day of Advent non-perishable food items can be placed into the box and then will be taken to an area food bank. A food list of most desired and needed items was distributed.
There were 13 members from First UCC and East Vincent UCC in attendance. After a snack, everyone went home with their new handmade items. Special thanks to everyone who helped, brought a snack and of course attended the workshop.
